Calculation method for mixed gases
A mixed gas is a mixture of two or more gases. When calculating the various physical and chemical properties of mixed gases, a series of calculation methods are required. Below we will introduce these calculation methods:
Calculation of average molecular weight
The average molecular weight is the ratio of the sum of the molecular weights of all gas molecules in a mixed gas to the total number of gas molecules. The calculation formula is as follows:
Average molecular weight= Σ (molecular weight x number of moles)/total number of moles
Among them, molecular weight is the mass of a gas molecule, number of moles is the amount of substance in that gas molecule, and total number of moles is the sum of the amounts of substance in all gas molecules.
Molar mass calculation
Molar mass is the mass of a 1 mole mixture of gases, calculated using the following formula:
Molar mass= Σ (Molecular weight x number of moles)
Among them, molecular weight is the mass of the gas molecule, and the number of moles is the mass of the substance of the gas molecule.
Density calculation
Density is the ratio of the mass of a mixed gas to its volume, calculated using the following formula:
Density=mass of mixed gas/volume of mixed gas
Among them, the mass of the mixed gas is the sum of the masses of all gas molecules, and the volume of the mixed gas is the sum of the volumes of all gas molecules.
Pressure calculation
Pressure is the pressure exerted by a mixed gas on the container wall, calculated using the following formula:
Pressure= Σ (Gas pressure x Moles)/Total volume
Among them, gas pressure is the ratio of the impact force of gas molecules on the container wall to the area of the container wall, the number of moles is the amount of material in the gas molecule, and the total volume is the sum of the volumes of all gas molecules.
Volume fraction calculation
The volume fraction is the ratio of the volume occupied by a certain gas in a mixed gas to the total volume of the mixed gas. The calculation formula is as follows:
Volume fraction=(volume of a certain gas/total volume of mixed gas) x 100%
Among them, the volume of a certain gas is the sum of the volumes of its molecules, and the total volume of a mixed gas is the sum of the volumes of all gas molecules.
Thermodynamic temperature calculation
Thermodynamic temperature is a physical quantity that describes the thermal state of a system, and the calculation formula is as follows:
Thermodynamic temperature=Celsius temperature+273.15
Among them, Celsius temperature is a commonly used temperature representation method, and 273.15 is a constant that converts Celsius temperature into thermodynamic temperature.
